Alice Training Information

RSU # 71 has become an ALICE-certified school district during the 2019-2020 school year. ALICE is an acronym for "Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate" and is a methodology that empowers people to make good survival decisions should a school attack occur. Teachers and administrators received Level 1 training in 2018-2019 and in this academic year licenses were purchased for all employees in the school district. 95% of the staff having passed a test certifying readiness.

This spring Parent Nights will be scheduled to inform parents and the community about the ALICE approach after which students will be trained in ALICE protocols. The program walks the family or community member in your district through the ALICE proactive strategies, how they are taught and delivered and answers frequently asked questions. It is an interactive video that allows the viewer to learn how your staff is prepared to empower students relative to their age and ability.

Family and community awareness module is an online learning that shows anyone that registers what ALICE is, how it is being taught in the schools of your district and how to talk to their kids about it.
